Two clinicians experienced in regional anesthesia, working with a general surgery colleague, identified a recurring challenge in procedural care: clinicians needed additional local anesthetic options that could support individualized procedural and post-procedural treatment plans.
Existing approaches do not fit every patient, procedure or clinical workflow. The development team explored whether established anesthetic ingredients could be combined in a different formulation to give clinicians another option when an FDA-approved product is not medically appropriate for a particular patient.
The team focused on a sterile, preservative-free formulation that combined tetracaine, lidocaine and epinephrine at dilute concentrations. Their objective was to create an additional local anesthetic option for licensed healthcare professionals to evaluate within their own clinical judgment and protocols.
That work became Endura-KT: a compounded formulation intended for professional use in procedural settings.
Our mission is to expand clinician access to thoughtfully developed, opioid-free local anesthetic options for procedural and post-operative care. Through responsible education, consistent product quality and clinician-directed use, we aim to support informed clinical decision-making and a better patient-care experience.
The 503B pathway allows qualifying outsourcing facilities to compound (manufacture) medications for healthcare providers, including office stock, subject to the conditions in federal law. It provides the manufacturing framework for Endura-KT today. It does not mean that Endura-KT is FDA approved or that FDA has evaluated the product’s safety or effectiveness.
